Robert has presented lectures on the Cockleshell Raid to Wellington College; on Field Marshal Slim to RUSI, the Open University, The Joint Services Command and Staff College, The Army and Navy Club, and on the subject of generalship to the Friends of the Green Howards Museum and the Honourable Artillery Company.
In 2006 he delivered a series of lectures across the country on the war in Burma to support the BBC People’s War Project, when Robert interviewed, amongst many others, WWII veteran Dennis Greenslade.
He has also acted as historian for the BBC’s Who do you think you are?
